Happy Waterproofing Day!

Yes, indeed.  Today was basement waterproofing day at my house.  It was very exciting.  Theoretically there will no longer be puddles and damp walls in my basement every time it rains.  I've never seen a basement waterproofed before, so I had to take some before, during and after pictures.  That's one more thing done for the house!

Not only do they waterproof basements, they also trim trees.

He was my shadow the whole time they were here.

The carpet wasn't that clean to begin with, but I appreciate the effort.

I would like to point out there are no more hoses on the floor!  I'm very excited to not have those darn things to trip over while doing laundry.  The dark edge along the walls is the wet cement that will take a few days to cure.  Then I can put all my stuff back where it was.  The basement looks so bright and clean right now.  It's pretty neat.  Some day I'll get more of the basement finished...I hope...like the open air bathroom maybe becoming not so open.  But that's a long way off.  For now I'm just excited to no longer have to worry about wet floors and walls!

There is one thing left for them to do though.  The pump is connected to a drain that comes out of the front of the house.  The ground is too frozen for them to put on the finishing touches, so they will need to come back and do that, but, the crew leader said it doesn't take long and they won't need to come in, so they can come without me having to make any special arrangements.  Yea!

There you go.  Very exciting, right?  We're going to celebrate with little smokies and fancy bread for dinner.  I know what you're thinking and yes, we are party animals.
